From pasture to plate, Colorado ranching families take pride in raising beef for their families and yours. More than 97% of beef cattle farms and ranches in the United States are family farms. Ranchers care about their animals, they care about conservation and they care about consumers. Ranching families put the same products on their table that you prepare for your family, so they strive to make keep America's food supply the safest in the world.
Feeding the world. The U.S. produces 20 percent of the world’s beef with 7 percent of the world’s cattle. Today, there are half as many farmers and ranchers feeding a population that has more than doubled. Thanks to modern production practices, each U.S. farmer today produces food and fiber annually to feed 155 people in the United States and abroad, compared to 19 people in 1940.
